Knockdown house scam: Elusive Thai builder arrested for defrauding clients

A high-end knockdown house builder, known in the community as Tiger Craftsman, was apprehended by the police and highway patrol today, after absconding with deposit money from clients. The 30 year old suspect responsible for orchestrating this knockdown house scam, identified only as Watthit, was detained by the authorities on Sirisothon Road, Lat Khwang, Ban Pho, Chachoengsao province.

Watthit allegedly deceived and threatened his victims through his Facebook page, Knockdown House Diary. The page advertised beautiful, affordable, quality knockdown houses, promising hassle-free service with the concept of Just call to order; we will set it up for you.

Several victims fell for his scheme, yet after the agreement was made, he would request a deposit from his clients and subsequently vanish without a trace. Some victims even reported being threatened not to report the matter to the authorities.

When victims started sharing their experiences on social media, authorities were alerted to his fraudulent activities conducted in this knockdown house scam. Discovering that the suspect had been hiding in a rented house in Chachoengsao province, they successfully apprehended him.

Despite his denial, an investigation into Watthit’s criminal history revealed that he was wanted by various local police units for numerous fraud, embezzlement and public deception cases, with seven arrest warrants to his name. The suspect was subsequently handed over to the Khan Na Yao Police Station for further legal proceedings, reported KhaoSod.
