Looking for a view? SkyFlyers is one of the world’s tallest rides, now open in Bangkok

A new swing ride at Asiatique now offers one of Bangkok’s highest open-air views

Bangkok has added a new high-flying attraction to its riverside skyline. SkyFlyers: Wings of Garudapterus, one of the world’s tallest swing rides, is now open to the public at Asiatique The Riverfront.

This ride is offering riders an exhilarating, 360-degree view of the capital city from the height of a 36-storey building.

This new ride spins 24 people at a time into the sky, where the cityscape below becomes a dizzying blur of lights and movement. Whether you’re an expat looking for something new or a visitor hunting for a unique photo opportunity, SkyFlyers delivers an experience that’s equal parts visual and visceral.

Many are already calling it one of the most exhilarating rides in Thailand and it’s easy to see that as you will be soaring through the air at about 135 metres high.

Visitors experience a thrilling 360-degree view while riding SkyFlyers.

Riders are encouraged to time their visit around sunset for the best views. From that height, the golden glow over the Chao Phraya River and city skyline offers a rare visual moment without needing to climb a skyscraper or book a rooftop bar. However, this isn’t for the faint of heart.

Safety measures are in place, and all loose items (including phones and glasses) must be left behind before boarding.

However, if you are worried that you will not have a video to commemorate your ascension above Bangkok, you can pay to rent a GoPro camera.

Here’s what to know before you go:

You can find the ride at Asiatique on the opposite end from the Ferris wheel.

Price and rules
Ticket Price 320 Thai baht
GoPro Rental 250 Thai baht
Minimum Height Requirement 120 centimetres
Health Restrictions Not suitable for guests with certain health conditions
Loose Items Phones, hats, glasses, and any loose items are not allowed

High flying, exhilarating, daring, and also romantic as well, SkyFlyers is the ride that you need to try if looking for something a little different on the riverside. Don’t worry, it has been safety certified by the German company thingsTÜV Nord. Just don’t look down if you’re not a fan of heights.

Recent update: SkyFlyers have announced a few updates to their ride, which are:

  • Scenic ride mode: During the evening times, Skyflyers will glide in a relaxed, scenic style to allow riders to enjoy the view of Bangkok and the Chao Phraya River.
  • Updated hours: The ride will now be operating from 1pm to 10pm based on community feedback
