“Today is an important day in the history of Bangkok’s public health system because caring for patients and citizens means using technology to access medical services without having to go to the hospital. It is a concept of Telemedicine that was on the campaign trail two years ago but is concrete today. People can come to the Health Tech service point for a basic health check or a more detailed examination. It includes being able to consult with doctors remotely and expanding services to reach the public conveniently, without having to wait for the hospital. We can manage resources better and doctors can provide more services to the people,” Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, said after presiding over the opening of Health Tech, Health Technology Centre, Seacon Bang Khae Branch, Phasi Charoen District.

The Governor of Bangkok went on to say that he is proud of the companies that joined, including Seacon Bang Khae, which provided space to set up service points, and Touch Technology Company, which brought together health technology. It is very gratifying to see the success and cooperation of all sectors and BMA facilitating it. In terms of technology, there is cooperation from the private sector as of today, which is considered to be the first step. We believe we can scale quickly because technology changes. In the future, the results will be extended to every hospital and every public health service centre as well.

“In terms of caring for the elderly in Bangkok, we are constantly visiting the area using the capillary concept, which is a public health service centre together with Bangkok Public Health Volunteers who accompany vulnerable groups, the elderly, and bedridden patients to provide advice and assistance at home. Patients do not need to travel to hospitals or public health centres,” the Bangkok Governor said.
