After witnessing the successful Vietnamese public service song and #EndCov campaigns educating the Vietnamese population to wash their hands and take action in the battle against the Coronavirus, the Thai government has doubled down and weaponised the power of Issan music to create its own ‘viral’ video.
Quang Đăng’s Covid 19 cleanliness dance video started the #GhenCoVyChallenge on TikTok shortly after the WHO recommendation of regular hand washing as a simple and effective method to protect the community from diseases. The Thai government took notice when the popular Issan group Super Valentine “Jane, Noon, Bow” TikTok challenge recently went viral with thousands participating in the challenge, including HRH Princess Ubolratana over her birthday earlier this week .

Seeing an opportunity to educate while riding the social media wave, the Thai government media recruited Super Valentine to come back together after a 6 year break, and create a Covid 19 song. The songs alarming lyrics and cheerful disposition warns people to self isolate to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.
