A man in a wheelchair was fatally stabbed in East London this afternoon. The victim, in his 30s, known locally as a ‘good boy’ by a nearby butcher, was discovered with a stab wound on Rushmore Road in Lower Clapton.

Social media videos suggested he was attacked with a machete, but police have not confirmed this detail. Authorities have arrested two men. Police responded to reports of a fight at 3.38 pm.

An air ambulance was seen hovering above the nearby flats. The deceased had reportedly lived in the area for the past nine years. A police spokesperson stated, ‘Police were called at 15:38hrs on Wednesday, August 28, to reports of a fight in Rushmore Road, E5.

Officers, the London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance attended and found a man in his 30s with a stab wound. Despite the emergency services’ best efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin will be informed. Two males have been arrested, with no further details available at this time. Enquiries remain ongoing.’
