Russia Beyond the Headlines – all about it, in a language you can understand

PHUKET: The latest issue of the Phuket Gazette, on newsstands across the island this weekend, includes our launch edition of Russia – Beyond the Headlines (RBTH).
Like the China Daily we pioneered two years ago as a free supplement for our valued readers, RBTH delivers insights into its host country’s relationships with Thailand and Asia. It also explores Russian culture, sports, business, overseas investment and tourism trends.
Among the articles are explanations of crucial historical events and social movements shaping the development of the giant nation, and Russia’s role on the global stage today.
From now on, you’ll be receiving this incisive publication, created specially for The Nation and the Phuket Gazette, every two weeks.
Published by the renowned Moscow-based Rossiskaya Gazetta, who build similar custom journals for the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Times of London, the South China Morning Post, the Sydney Herald and many other leading newspapers around the world, RBTH tailors its content to country-specific audiences.
Your RBTH for Thailand this week explores Siberia’s attractions for Buddhists, Muay Thai, the Russia-Thai relationship, Russia’s favorite property investment destinations, where the Russians like to go on holiday (Thailand ranks fourth), and yes – why they are not always popular in Phuket.
But not all RBTH content is Russian/Thai-centric. This week’s op-ed pages note the importance of the United States to Russia, and a Russian journalist asks, “Can America adjust to a Multipolar World?”
For several years now, our new Russian expat neighbors and tens of thousands of Russian tourists have learned about the issues affecting all expats on the island by reading the Phuket Gazette.
Today, we are proud to extend that bridge in the other direction, offering our traditional readers, Thai and foreign, some new perspectives on the fastest growing segment of Phuket’s international community.
We hope you will enjoy Russia – Beyond the Headlines.
