Pattaya City launches flood relief donation points for North Thailand

Pattaya City is rallying together with Bang Lamung district, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, and Pattaya Police Station to launch donation points for flood relief in North Thailand.

The initiative, spearheaded by Pattaya City Mayor Poramese Ngampiches, Prasert Thongthitcharoen of the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, and Petty Officer 1st Class Pittayaphon Kokaew, Bang Lamung District Chief, aims to bring aid to those in need.

Key figures such as Banlue Kulawanit, President of the Pattaya City Council, along with council members, Orrawan Sukhonanwong, President of the Pattaya City Community Association, police officers, heads of government agencies, and representatives from various organisations, gathered for the launch of these crucial donation points.

The eight donation points are strategically located to maximise accessibility for donors:
1. In front of Pattaya City Hall
2. In front of Wat Chaimongkol Royal Monastery
3. Banglamung District Hall during office hours
4. In front of Pattaya City Police Station
5. Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, Pattaya City
6. Sawang Boriboon School in Soi Nen Plab Wan
7. In front of The Stones House on Walking Street
8. In front of Big C South Pattaya

Donations of dry food, canned fish, disposable diapers, drinking water, soap, toothpaste, instant noodles, and other daily necessities, as well as cash, will be accepted from today, August 27 to August 30. However, second-hand clothes will not be accepted.

The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation will oversee the packing of donated items before they are dispatched to the flood-affected regions in the North.

Banlue Kulawanit generously provided large trucks to transport the relief supplies to the victims, reported Pattaya News.

Poramese Ngampiches stressed the importance of community support in times of crisis.

“We stand together with our brothers and sisters in the North. This initiative reflects our commitment to helping those in need.”

Prasert Thongthitcharoen highlighted the collaborative effort.

“This partnership showcases the strength of our community and our dedication to providing timely assistance,” he noted.

Petty Officer 1st Class Pittayaphon Kokaew expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support.

“The unity and generosity of our community are truly inspiring. Together, we can make a significant difference,” he remarked.

This collaborative effort underscores the enduring spirit of unity and compassion that defines the Thai community, demonstrating their commitment to aiding those in need during crises.
