Today marks the start of the much-anticipated annual Squid Fair on Jomtien Beach in Pattaya, taking place in front of the Now Hotel near Soi 10. This popular two-day event is scheduled to run from 5pm to 10pm today and tomorrow (June 10 to 11), according to The Pattaya News. It will showcase a wide variety of seafood.

Visitors can expect to find an array of food stalls featuring delicious seafood dishes, as well as appearances from renowned chefs and engaging activities such as eating contests and special events. The Squid Fair has become a staple in Pattaya’s annual event calendar, drawing large crowds and providing a fun-filled experience for all attendees.

For those planning to visit the fair, free parking is available at the Big Market in Jomtien on Soi 16. Additionally, baht bus shuttles will be operating to transport visitors to and from the fair, making it convenient for those who prefer not to walk the short distance.

With its lively atmosphere and mouth-watering seafood offerings, the Squid Fair promises an enjoyable weekend for all who attend. Don’t miss out on this unique gastronomic experience and join the fun at the squid fair this weekend!

The Squid Fair debuted last year, aiming to boost the local economy and bring income to vendors. With several well known seafood vendors all gathered together in one spot in front of the popular shopping zone, customers enjoyed a nice variety, particularly a variety of squid. Last year, the vendors were decorated with Japanese ornaments.

As Phuket, and Pattaya have both historically been major tourism hotspots in Thailand, officials from both areas scrambled last year to find ways to revive their tourism economies dishevelled by Covid-19 restrictions. One method that officials used was organising numerous seafood festivals. These festivals not only bring income to local populations but also showcase Thailand’s unique culture and cuisine.
