Trang underwear bandit leaves a woman in ‘brief’ terror
A woman in Trang is living in fear after a thief stole all her underwear, valued at tens of thousands of baht, from her clothes line. Despite reporting the incident nearly four months ago, the case remains unsolved, leaving her anxious about her safety and property.
A private company employee, 35 year old Khwan Siri Klangjui, referenced the clothes line within the fence of her home in Khok Lo subdistrict, Mueang Trang district. For some time, she had been drying her clothes and undergarments in this area regularly. However, her undergarments started disappearing one or two at a time, prompting her to install a CCTV camera due to safety concerns.
On the night of March 22, around midnight, the CCTV captured clear footage of a man stealing her underwear and bras. The thief made off with 20 pieces of undergarments, all of which were new and worth tens of thousands of baht.
He used an umbrella to hook the circular clothes hanger, taking all the undergarments in one go. Khwan promptly reported the theft to the Mueang Trang Police Station.
She added that she recognised the thief’s face from the CCTV footage as someone who frequently rode a motorcycle past her house. Besides the loss of her undergarments, she is deeply concerned about the thief’s intentions, whether he plans to sell them or use them for other purposes. This fear has made her stop drying her undergarments outside altogether, fearing for her safety and property, reported KhaoSod.
“The most troubling part is that it has been almost four months since I reported the case, but there has been no progress. The police haven’t apprehended the thief yet.”
