Thai woman killed and dumped in canal over alleged love affair
Police trace victim's missing car in hunt for suspects
Police are searching for the suspects involved in the murder of a Thai woman whose body was found dumped in a canal in the central province of Nakhon Pathom. Adultery is suspected to be the motive behind the killing.
A local fisherman alerted officers from Bang Len Police Station after discovering the body of the woman, later identified as 49 year old Chan, floating in the canal at around 6.30am yesterday, November 5.
The fisherman explained that he was on his way to his daily fishing routine when he noticed the woman’s body in the water. A small group of onlookers had gathered at the scene and asked him to help retrieve the body, but he refused and advised them to contact the police instead.
According to officers, Chan was wearing a white lace blouse and shorts. An electric wire had been wrapped around her neck, and a concrete pillar had been cast onto a PVC pipe and tied to her body to weigh her down.
Police believe Chan had been dead for at least three days before she was found. No identification documents were discovered with her, but her identity matched a missing person report filed by her son at Khok Kham Police Station in Samut Sakhon province.

Her 26 year old son, O, told police that his mother had divorced his father a long time ago. She later ran a coffee shop and dealt in land mortgages. Chan disappeared from her home in Samut Sakhon on the afternoon of November 2, taking her mobile phone and a Nissan Juke hatchback.
According to O, his mother had been romantically involved with a married man in Nakhon Pathom. The man’s wife reportedly discovered the affair, which police suspect may have led to Chan’s murder.
Investigators believe Chan’s car may have been pawned somewhere in the province and plan to trace it in order to identify suspects.
