Thai man shoots ex-wife and new boyfriend in jealous rage (video)
A Thai man shot dead his ex-wife and her new boyfriend yesterday at the woman’s rented home in the Thung Song district of the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat before he was arrested later that afternoon.
Thung Song Police Station officers investigated the deaths of a 33 year old Thai woman, Jariya Tamtoi, at 4.45am yesterday, November 3, at a house in the Thung Song district. Rescuers from the Siam Pu-in Ruamjai Foundation were also called to the scene. Her lifeless body was found on the bed with a gunshot wound to her head.
Jariya’s boyfriend, 24 year old Trakarn Kamkom, was also present in the room. He, too, suffered a gunshot wound and later succumbed to his injuries at Thung Song Hospital.
Police suspected Jariya’s ex-boyfriend, 33 year old Passakorn Dutsadee, as the perpetrator. Jariya and Passakorn worked at the same company and previously lived together at the house where the fatal shooting took place. They broke up about three months ago, and Passakorn moved out.
However, Passakorn continued to visit Jariya at the house and often took her out for dinner. A neighbour informed police that he frequently saw them having barbecues together in front of the house.
Passakorn is believed to have suspected that his ex-girlfriend started a relationship with Trakarn, which led him to shoot them both out of anger and jealousy.
Officers checked security camera footage near the house and saw Passakorn leaving the scene in his black Toyota. Police searched for him and located his car, leading to his arrest later that afternoon. The .357 pistol used in the crime was seized.
Passakorn confessed to the murders, admitting that he acted out of jealousy. He insisted that he was not merely an ex-boyfriend but married to Jariya. Although they broke up and were living separately, they had not yet signed the official divorce documents.
Passakorn said he had been monitoring Jariya’s new relationship and, upon finding them together in the bedroom on the day of the incident, lost control in a fit of rage, shooting them until he ran out of bullets before fleeing the scene.
