Thai man caught on CCTV footage raping daughter of close friend

A Thai mother installed a security camera in her 11 year old daughter’s bedroom and caught her husband’s close friend raping her daughter while she and her husband were away from home at work.
The mother, 30 year old Noi, yesterday filed a sexual assault complaint with the Uthai Police Station and subsequently submitted the matter to the Be One foundation. The foundation’s founder, Chalida Palamart, later accompanied the family to follow up on the case at the police station yesterday, March 5.
Noi revealed the entire story to the media, stating that her 11 year old daughter’s teacher contacted her, informing her that her daughter had a boyfriend. She sought further information and spoke to the girl about her relationship.
The daughter admitted to having a boyfriend and confessed that he visited her at home when Noi and her husband were at work. However, she insisted that she had never engaged in sexual activity with him.
Noi decided to install a security camera in her daughter’s bedroom, and what she discovered shocked her. She saw her husband’s close friend, 29 year old Tour, entering her daughter’s room. Noi did not confirm whether Tour was the boyfriend mentioned by the teacher.
Noi shared her findings with her daughter and encouraged her to disclose what had happened. The girl revealed that Tour raped her in October of the previous year. He regularly visited the house and gave her money and snacks.

Suspect’s wife shocked
Tour raped her three times last year and planned to repeat his actions on the day Noi caught him on camera. The man also inappropriately touched her whenever he had the opportunity.
While the victim and her family were at the police station, officers brought in the suspect, along with his wife, 30 year old Kate. Kate was confused to see the victim and her family. Police had not yet informed her of the reason for her husband’s arrest.
Upon learning of the sexual assault, Kate reportedly collapsed to the ground in shock and disappointment. She told the media, in tears, that the young victim respected her and her husband as family members.

Kate admitted that Tour was a womaniser but never expected he would dare to rape the girl, given their close family ties. They had known the girl since she was in nursery school. She viewed the video footage provided by Noi and was forced to acknowledge the truth.
Kate stated that her husband continued to deny the accusations. He refused to discuss the matter and did not offer any apology to her or the girl. Kate insisted on ending her relationship with Tour.

Police denied Tour’s bail request to prevent him from evading legal consequences. The legal details were not released to the public.
Following a similar precedent, Tour will be charged under Section 277 of the Criminal Law: sexually assaulting a minor under 13 years old. The penalty is imprisonment from seven to 20 years and a fine of 140,000 to 400,000 baht, or life imprisonment.
