Thai man beheads 4 puppies, blames father-in-law for cruelty
A sadistic Thai man in the Isaan province of Buriram brutally beheaded four puppies before trying to point the finger of blame on his father-in-law for the cruel act. Evidence of the man’s barbaric cruelty was found on his mobile phone.
A resident of Chaloem Phrakiat district, Buriram, shared on social media that she discovered the bodies of four puppies, aged 1–2 months, under a tree in the Ban Don Kwang Community. The dogs were brutally killed, with their heads removed and intestines pulled out.
According to the resident, the puppies belonged to a couple who lived nearby, who were also unaware of who committed this horrific act.
Officers from Chaloem Phrakiat Police Station visited the couple’s home yesterday, November 12, but found them absent. Police then visited nearby houses, eventually locating the husband, Khiao, at his aunt’s home.
Khiao denied involvement in the killings. He told police that he argued with his wife and left their shared home to stay with his aunt before the dogs were killed. The man also added that he loved animals and even cared for the puppies’ mother after their deaths.
Police questioned him for over an hour and concluded that he was not responsible. Officers returned to the couple’s house, hoping to meet Khiao’s wife but she had not returned. They found only Khiao’s son-in-law, 28 year old Tao, at the house.
Tao displayed suspicious behaviour during his conversation with the police. Officers noticed blood stains on his shirt, which Tao claimed were from his own injuries. However, a search revealed no wounds on his body, prompting further questioning.
Tao eventually confessed to killing the dogs but refused to reveal his motive. Police found pictures of the dead puppies on his phone, which became important evidence in the case.
According to the police report, Tao attempted to blame the killings on his father-in-law, Khiao, alleging that he was angry with Khiao for frequently abusing his mother when drunk.
Officers are now searching for Tao’s mother for questioning to determine the true motive and assess her involvement, if any, in the incident.
Tao was initially charged under Section 382 of the Criminal Law for committing cruelty to animals or killing them without necessity. The penalty is imprisonment of up to one month, a fine of up to 10,000 baht, or both.
