A homeless woman in Thailand found herself in excruciating pain after rings became locked on her swollen fingers, leading to infected wounds. The ordeal, which had rendered her unable to communicate effectively, unfolded in Pattaya on Sunday, December 1.

The woman, identified only as 45 year old A, showed up at the Pattaya Police Station desperately seeking assistance. Officers quickly summoned rescue workers, who found A in visible distress. Her fingers were severely swollen, with two rings cutting deeply into her flesh, causing painful infections.

Rescuers rushed the woman to a local hospital, where a medical team worked meticulously to free her from the jewellery-induced torment. The delicate procedure required two hours, as doctors carefully removed the rings while treating her injuries to prevent further complications.

The woman’s plight highlights the risks of tight jewellery, especially for those experiencing changes in weight or health conditions affecting circulation. For the homeless, accessing timely medical care can be a significant challenge, exacerbating such situations, reported Pattaya News.
