No water in lungs: Thai party entertainer dies before entering river
Gay party host suspected of dumping overdose victim in river

An autopsy confirmed that a Thai party entertainer, whose body was found in a river in the central province of Kanchanaburi, died of a drug overdose, not by drowning.
The family of the 28 year old party entertainer, Mark, sought justice after police delayed the investigation into his death. Mark’s mother and two sisters, along with another party entertainer, appeared on the news programme Hone Krasae last week to reveal details of Mark’s death to the public.
Before his death, Mark and another party entertainer named Mew were hired by a gay Thai man named Rin to work at a drug party at a floating accommodation in Kanchanaburi from February 26 to 28. According to Mew, Rin forced Mark to take ketamine and crystal meth which was his first time using drugs.
Mew claimed he did not know what had happened but Rin told him in the early hours of February 28 that Mark had gone missing. Rin and Mew then destroyed and concealed their drugs and paraphernalia before reporting Mark’s disappearance to staff at the accommodation and officers at Si Sawat Police Station.
The search for Mark continued while drug tests were conducted on Rin and Mew. Both tested positive, but Rin allegedly paid police 60,000 baht to avoid charges. Mew did not bribe the officers and agreed to face legal consequences.
In the interview, Mew stated that he suspected Rin had pushed Mark’s body into the river, prompting him to speak out about the incident. However, he also acknowledged that Mark might have jumped into the river under the influence of drugs.

The family said they had been demanding the autopsy results up until the day of the interview, but police and medical staff failed to respond. They wanted clarity on whether Mark died from drowning or an overdose.
Following public pressure, the family finally received the autopsy results yesterday, May 14, which confirmed that there was no water in Mark’s lungs, proving he did not drown. He had died before entering the river.
In addition to the investigation into Mark’s death, the Royal Thai Police (RTP) announced an internal investigation into the alleged 60,000 baht bribe paid to Si Sawat Police Station officers. Any officers involved will face justice.
