A revered Thai monk known for his amulets miraculously survived a car accident unscathed, sparking interest among local lottery enthusiasts in the vehicle’s license plate number.

The incident occurred yesterday when the monk’s car flipped but neither he nor his passengers sustained serious injuries.

This event has captivated the public’s attention, with many attributing the fortunate escape to the protective powers of the amulets carried by the venerable monk.

On the day of the accident, the Facebook fan page of Wat Phai Lom’s amulets, associated with Luang Por Poon and Luang Phi Nam Fon, posted images of the overturned bronze Mercedes with its wheels in the air.

Phra Khru Sittiwat, Luang Phi Nam Fon, the abbot of Wat Phai Lom, was present at the scene, inspecting the vehicle’s condition and coordinating with rescue workers and villagers helping to extract his nephew from the car.

The page conveyed a message underscoring the importance of mindfulness and safety while driving, teachings consistently imparted by Luang Por Poon and Luang Phi Nam Fon to their followers.

Spiritual protection

Despite the unexpected occurrences, accidents can happen at any time, which is why many people prefer to keep sacred objects with them as a form of spiritual protection.

The accident left the occupants with only minor scratches and bruises, leading to beliefs that a miracle occurred, thanks to the amulets they had with them.

These included a Singha Metta Maha Baramee amulet from 2003, a medallion of Luang Por Poon from 2001, a Phra Nak Prok amulet also from 2001, and a stone bracelet commemorating the 111th birth anniversary of Luang Por Poon from 2023.

Following the accident, 52 year old Luang Phi Nam Fon revealed that after a medical check-up, the doctors confirmed that he was fine with no injuries.

His nephew, who was driving, lost consciousness for five minutes and sustained slight bruises on his arms and legs, while the backseat passenger suffered only minor injuries with no broken bones.

Lottery enthusiasts have since been eager to discern the license plate number of Luang Phi Nam Fon’s overturned car, which read 5656. Curiously, this isn’t the first time Luang Phi Nam Fon has been involved in a car accident; he experienced a similar incident at the age of 25.

In an interesting twist, the next lottery draw, typically scheduled for the first of the month, will exceptionally take place on May 2. The specific reasons for this change in the lottery schedule have piqued the curiosity of those who regularly follow the lottery results.
