A Thai man filed a complaint with the police after he discovered a body with a gunshot wound in a banana plantation located behind his house in the central province of Ratchaburi, central Thailand.

Officers from Baan Pong Police Station, medical workers from Baan Pong Hospital, and Ruam Jai Kan Kuson Rescue Team were alerted about the body and rushed to the house in the Berk Prai sub-district in the Baan Pong district at 10pm last night.

House owner Narongpashon found the body. The 60 year old waited for officers at the scene and took them to the body in the banana plantation behind his house.

The deceased was later identified as 43 year old man named Wanchai Sookhong. Police reported that the dead man’s house was in the Baan Rai sub-district of Damnoen Saduak district in Ratchaburi. He had one gunshot wound to his chest and was found wearing a red shirt covered by a red plaid long-sleeved shirt, and jeans.

Further inspection of the area revealed that Wanchai’s motorcycle had been hidden in the nearby forest, around 50 meters away from the plantation. Additionally, droplets of blood were discovered behind the house, approximately 5 meters from the body.

Officers also noted a suspicious wall that had just been constructed near the bloodstains and suspected that something might be hidden within it.

Despite their thorough investigation, authorities were unable to locate any traces of the murderer or the weapon used in the crime.

At present, the house owner Narongpashon is being questioned by the police, and it is unclear what his relationship was with the deceased.

Another similar report of suspicious death emerged last year. The body of a Thai woman, 58 year old Chantira, was found stuffed in a freezer at her husband’s house in the northern province of Phitsanulok. Her mouth was covered with tape and estimated to be dead for three days before being discovered by her son.

Chantira’s husband admitted to fighting with her before she disappeared. She left a note saying that she would go to Bangkok to avoid being a burden to the family because of her massive debt. It is still unclear whether the case of Chantira’s death was a suicide or a murder.
