Indian man in Pattaya allegedly kidnapped by his own son
Police are investigating the case of an Indian restaurant owner in Pattaya who was allegedly kidnapped and attacked by his own son and his son’s Thai friends yesterday. Luckily, the victim managed to escape by jumping out of a moving car and is under the care of authorities, reports KhaoSod.
Yesterday, the officers from the Mueang Pattaya Police Station rushed to Central Pattaya Road to assist the victim, 53 year old Sanjay Gaur. He was found crying and shaking on the pavement. He was reported to be injured from the attack, but the details of his injuries and condition were not reported.
A Thai woman, 38 year old Arocha, reported to the police that Gaur contacted her Indian boyfriend for help. Gaur told her and her boyfriend that his son and a group of Thai women and men kidnapped him from his restaurant on Sai Song Road and took him away in a white MG sedan.
The gang headed to the Na Klua sub-district in Chon Buri province and physically assaulted Gaur along the way. Gaur managed to escape by opening the car door and jumping out while the car was moving. He then contacted his Indian friend and Arocha to pick him up and file a complaint with the police.
The police are now checking the CCTV cameras along the road from Gaur’s restaurant to the spot where he escaped from the car. The suspects’ motive was not disclosed. The officers will be questioning Gaur’s son and other relevant suspects in the case at the police station.
A similar incident involving a Thai millionaire and his wife was reported in February. The man filed a complaint with the police, stating that his son and daughter-in-law had drugged and imprisoned him and his wife for over two years. The man also accused a couple of murdering his wife, claiming that they wanted his assets worth 65 million baht.
