A 70 year old Thai man was attacked and killed by an American Pit Bull Terrier in Khon Kaen province.

The man’s 33 year old son, Prasert collected his father’s body from the Srinagarind Hospital morgue. The attack occurred at Kho village, Kud Khon Kaen subdistrict, Phuwiang district yesterday, July 24. Prasert, deeply saddened, urged the dog’s owner to take responsibility.

Prasert explained that he was working in Chon Buri when he received a call from relatives informing him that his father, Lek, had been bitten by a dog and was being taken to Phuwiang Hospital. Within half an hour, he received another call with the devastating news that his father had passed away.

The body was then transferred to Srinagarind Hospital for an autopsy, prompting Prasert to return home to arrange for his father’s religious rites.

“I was shocked by what happened. My father usually walked around the village without any issues. On the night of the incident, he was on his way to collect money for frogs that a neighbour had bought. Suddenly, a dog attacked him, leading to his death.”

Prasert noted that he hadn’t seen this particular dog before and was unaware of how his father encountered it. He expressed his concern and demanded accountability from the dog’s owner, believed to be a local school teacher. Prasert mentioned that he had not yet spoken to the owner but planned to do so after completing the religious ceremonies for his father, reported KhaoSod.

“I haven’t had a chance to discuss this with the dog owner yet. After we finish the funeral, I will definitely reach out. It’s important for them to take responsibility for what happened. I’ve never seen this dog before but I’d like to talk with the owner.”

In related news, a tense road rage incident took an unexpected turn when two pit bull-like dogs intervened, saving the day. A viral video which circulated on social media captured the dramatic encounter, which took place on June 12, between two truck drivers on a busy road in Thailand.
