Bangkok police have successfully dismantled a major drug operation following the arrest of two individuals caught with an extensive haul of methamphetamine pills and a considerable sum of cash. The operation, which took place late at night in the capital, led to the seizure of 190,000 methamphetamine pills, approximately 400 grams of ketamine, and over 1.3 million baht (US$ 36,000) in cash and bank account assets.

The arrests were made in two separate locations in Bangkok. The first individual, 24 year old Jirayu, was apprehended in the Sasiwimon 2 Village in the Bang Khae district, while the second, 24 year old Thanapol, was detained in the parking area of an apartment complex in Nong Khaem district. Alongside the drugs, the police also confiscated 300,000 baht (US$ 82,000) in cash, three ATM cards, and six bank books, subsequently freezing an additional 1.1 million baht (US$ 30,000) in bank account funds.

The sting operation was a result of extensive surveillance and intelligence gathering by the Narcotics Suppression Division 6, which had been monitoring a drug network led by an individual known only as L in the Thonburi area. The two suspects, Jirayu and Thanapol, were observed meeting at a petrol station along Buddhamonthon 5 Road. Afterwards, they set off on separate motorcycles, with Thanapol leading the way to scout ahead for checkpoints and law enforcement, while Jirayu followed behind at a distance.

Their journey led them to a predetermined meeting spot in Soi Phetkasem 126, Om Noi Subdistrict, Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province, where they collected the narcotics. Jirayu then placed the drugs in a sack between his legs on the motorcycle and headed to a residence, with Thanapol leading the way.
