A 61 year old Thai woman suspiciously abandoned her vehicle on the Bang Pakong River Bridge, leaving shoes and personal belongings behind. Her 49 year old niece is uncertain of any problems she might have faced, which caused her to disappear in Thailand’s central Chachoengsao province.

Officials from the Chachoengsao Police Station and Chachoengsao Rescue Unit examined an abandoned Honda Wave motorcycle with a Chachoengsao registration, found on the Bang Pakong River Bridge in Bang Phra, Mueang Chachoengsao district. A pair of black women’s shoes had been left on the edge of the bridge, while a red full-face helmet and red umbrella shirt were found in the motorcycle basket. The woman’s ID card identified her as 61 year old Naruphon Angkareuangratana.

Inspecting the provided address on the ID card led to a toy and snack store called Ang Tek Mong, where the 49 year old niece, Praphaporn Angkareuangratana, was located. She stated that Naruphon visited the store daily and would normally leave around 7pm to return home. She is unsure what happened and is unaware of any stress or issues Naruphon may have had to cause her to drive 10 kilometres away and abandon her vehicle.

Police suspect Naruphon may have jumped into the Bang Pakong River, and are coordinating with Chachoengsao rescue officials to search the area along the riverbank once again.

In another case on a missing woman in Thailand, concerned family members and friends of the Chinese woman who went missing last week on the Thai-Myanmar border arrived in Thailand to try and find her. Two videos featuring Chong Sumyee, also known as Angie, have emerged, providing information about her whereabouts. The mother, brother, and friends of Angie arrived in Chiang Mai province yesterday, June 6. Angie’s mother, 51 year old Caiyun, revealed to Thai police that she and others were worried about her. Today, they plan to travel to the Mae Sai district in the Chiang Rai province, the location where Angie was last seen.
