An alleged drunk driver smashed into several cars. The man had fallen asleep behind the wheel and did not wake up when police arrived to the scene. Officers had to call a locksmith to get him out of the car. Chon Buri police were alerted to the incident after midnight and arrived at the scene with emergency services. There, they found 3 damaged cars.

One of the damaged cars, a sedan, had 27 year old Kittipat Chalerm sleeping inside it. Officials tried for over 30 minutes to wake up Kittipat. They banged on the car door and windows to no avail. Finally, a locksmith was called to unlock the car’s door. The sleeping man then woke up, says the police.

The 27 year old allegedly confessed to being drunk and that he had just come from a friend’s house after drinking. Kittipat reportedly said that he left his friend’s house after getting drunk and that’s all he can remember. His lapse in memory also reportedly included the fact that it was after curfew.

Mueang Chon Buri police are still investigating the incident for additional legal proceedings. Thai media reports that Kittipat will probably be charged with drunk driving.
