Kite Festival on the Beach returns to Pattaya from February 24-28

The Kite Festival on the Beach 2023 returns to Pattaya with a flourish at the beach in front of the Central Pattaya Beach shopping mall at the end of this month.

After a hiatus last year with no explanation, the festival is back from February 24 to 28. The highlight of this year’s festival has yet to be announced, but the visitors are ensured to be amazed by the sheer size and beauty of several giant kites over the course of three days just like in the past.

In 2021, over 30 giant kites graced the beach, including the largest bowl kite in all of Thailand, which measured a staggering 15 meters in length.

Several other kites also came huge and a wide variety of shapes and forms from LED squids and whales to horses, octopuses, trilobites, and even fluttering butterflies.

And for those who want to get in on the fun, past festivals have included a painting activity for shoppers and beachgoers, where they can create their own kites to fly and show off. We’re crossing our fingers that this beloved activity will make a comeback this year too!

Best of all, the festival is completely free, so you can spend all day admiring these magnificent kites without breaking the bank.

So, pack your camera, grab a picnic blanket, and picnic basket, and head down to the beach for a joyful, lighthearted, and colourful adventure.

In addition to the upcoming Kite Festival on the Beach 2023 in Pattaya, the country is also home to several other exhilarating kite festivals in Hua Hin, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Koh Samui. Each event always comes with unique kites, kite-making workshops, live music, food stalls, and a kite-flying competition.
