Police arrest suspect in Yasothon tattoo shop shooting
Pickup truck linked to dispute escalates into deadly violence

Police have arrested 30 year old Apisit Hoolob following a shooting incident at a tattoo shop in Yasothon city. The arrest was made in a rented house in Pathum Ratchawongsa district, Amnat Charoen province, based on an arrest warrant issued by Yasothon Provincial Court on April 29.
Apisit faces charges of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm in public without a permit, and causing property damage.
The incident occurred on April 28, around 2am, when Kritsaranai, known as Joke, and eight friends visited a local bar in Yasothon. At 4am, as they were leaving, a white Isuzu pickup truck revved its engine aggressively at them.
Later, at 4.30am, while Joke and his group were at a tattoo shop on Ha Thunwa Road, they heard gunshots from outside. Bullets entered the shop, but fortunately, no one was injured. The suspects fled the scene.
The police investigation identified Apisit as the suspect, leading to his arrest. During the arrest, a .38 calibre firearm, 30 bullets, a single bullet casing, the white Isuzu pickup truck, and clothing worn during the incident were seized.
Apisit confessed to driving the truck and facilitating the shooting as retaliation against the tattoo shop owner for revving his car engine at them while leaving the bar and again at a nearby restaurant.
Sarunphong Jaksurat, Deputy Superintendent (Investigation) of Mueang Yasothon Police Station, reported that the investigation team successfully apprehended the suspect, who drove the pickup truck, while the gunman remains at large. It is believed that two firearms were used in the attack, given the discovery of over 10 bullet casings at the scene, reported KhaoSod.
The conflict arose after the tattoo shop group attempted to befriend and ask for the Instagram handle of the gunman’s girlfriend at the bar, leading to jealousy and anger. The situation escalated when revving engines were interpreted as taunts, prompting the violent response.
