Lucy-Bleu Knight, the stepdaughter of Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, has been confirmed to have passed away from hydrogen sulfide toxicity, with the manner of death ruled as suicide. She was 25.
On July 19, Slash shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, stating, “Lucy-Bleu Knight, beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024. Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.” The family has requested privacy and minimal social media speculation during their time of mourning.
The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office reported that law enforcement found Lucy-Bleu unresponsive in a private residence on July 19 during a welfare check. Death was pronounced at 3 p.m. An examination by a deputy medical examiner on July 22 confirmed the cause of death on August 29. Initially, the cause of death was delayed for further testing.

Hydrogen sulfide, a highly flammable and toxic gas, can cause symptoms such as headaches, nausea, tremors, convulsions, delirium, and skin or eye irritation with mild exposure. Severe exposure can lead to death or rapid unconsciousness.
Lucy-Bleu was the daughter of Meegan Hodges, Slash’s longtime partner, and her ex-partner, Mark Knight. Slash, who rekindled his relationship with Hodges in 2015 after first dating her in 1989, considered Lucy-Bleu a stepsister to his sons London, 22, and Cash, 20.
Just hours after Slash’s announcement, a post appeared on Lucy-Bleu’s Instagram, featuring a selfie and a caption expressing regret for her past actions and relationships. She wrote, “Whether I made you feel excluded, manipulated/controlled you, told you to quit your day job from the comfort of being financially supported by my parents, or drowned real issues in toxic positivity—I am sorry. Countless missed opportunities and connections due to a disgustingly big ego, insecure heart and fear of being vulnerable. May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job at being Lucy-Bleu. Peace.”
