Authorities are looking into the death of a 39-year-old woman during the first day of the Burning Man Festival in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.

Emergency services at Burning Man discovered Kendra Frazer unresponsive around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Pershing County Sheriff Jerry Allen confirmed deputies arrived and verified her death.

The sheriff stated on Monday that the cause and manner of her death are awaiting autopsy and toxicology results.

Festival organisers expressed their condolences to Frazer’s family and friends. They emphasised that the safety and well-being of attendees are their top priorities and affirmed their full cooperation with local authorities in the ongoing investigation.

The Burning Man festival for this year is scheduled from 25 August to 2 September, with approximately 80,000 attendees annually, according to the festival’s website.
