Connect Responsibly with sustainable meetings at Four Points by Sheraton Phuket
Meeting planners can align their business goals with their sustainability policies and offset their emissions
Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort, just a few steps away from the shorelines of Phuket’s sunset coast, is helping meeting planners to Connect Responsibly in Southern Thailand with an innovative new programme designed to maximise the business results of each event while minimising the impacts upon the planet.
Launched by Marriott Bonvoy Events™, Connect Responsibly is a global programme that embeds environmental stewardship into every corporate gathering. Inspired by Marriott’s sustainability and social impact platform, Serve 360: Doing Good in Every Direction, this progressive new programme will let companies stage extraordinary events that align with their business goals, without sacrificing any sustainability policies.
To achieve this, meeting planners at Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort will utilise tools to measure the event’s carbon emissions, utilising the findings to contribute to carbon offsetting projects.
These projects can be selected by the company to align with their guiding principles and philosophies. At the end of each event, the client will be presented with a comprehensive report and a certificate to demonstrate their sustainability.
This is just one of the ways that this eco-conscious MICE hotel in Phuket is ensuring that its meetings and events have a minimal impact on the planet. With 10 function rooms comprising 1,180 square metres of space, including the stunning sea-facing Akara Grand Ballroom, the resort sets the stage for all sizes and styles of corporate gatherings, from intimate strategy sessions to grand gala gatherings.
Every occasion can be enhanced with a wide range of sustainable solutions, including mobile check-in services, energy-efficient digital signage, clutter-free meeting set-ups and the removal of plastic water bottles.
Catering services include digital menus, food waste reduction measures, responsibly sourced ingredients and eco-friendly packaging, plus the chance to take part in food donation programs.
These form part of a wide range of environmental measures at Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort. The resort recently installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, and has taken extensive steps to reduce its waste, water usage, carbon emissions, and single-use plastics.
Recycling and food waste initiatives are integrated into the property’s operations, and supply chains have been established to focus on Phuket producers, including local farms and fishing communities. Eco-friendly krajood bags, which are handwoven in Phuket, are available in every suite.
