Foreign Lamborghini driver condemned for dangerous driving

Thai netizens condemned a foreigner in a Lamborghini caught driving dangerously through Phuket. Accusations are flying, with locals alleging that police allow wealthy foreigners to dodge justice by flashing cash.

A Thai driver captured the heated exchange with the foreign man and his Thai wife, sharing the explosive video on the Phuket Times Facebook page. The page subsequently shared the video with the public today, April 28, captioned:

“Such swagger! A foreigner with a Thai wife sped his Lamborghini around Phuket. He even smoked cigarettes and raised his middle finger in front of the police. He was not scared of Thai laws. Any issue ends with enough money.”

In the video, the foreign man is seen standing next to a police officer outside his luxury vehicle, while his wife remained seated inside. The foreigner lit a cigarette and then raised his middle finger at the Thai man who was filming. The Thai national could be heard complaining.

“Acting like what you’re doing is cool. You’re getting on my nerves! Such a d*ck! Motherf*cker! Hey girl, you’d better tell your husband not to do this in Phuket.”

Phuket Times reported that the officer featured in the footage was from Kathu Police Station. The officer issued a fine to the foreign driver for his dangerous behaviour but the amount of the fine was not disclosed to the public.

Netizens flooded the comment section with criticisms directed at both the foreigners and the police. Many expressed frustration that increasing numbers of foreigners in Thailand showed disrespect towards locals and laws, believing that money could resolve any situation.

Some also argued that foreigners developed this belief because Thai officials often imposed only light punishments and fines.

“Thai drivers would be absolutely subjected to a drug test for dangerous driving but that would never happen to foreigners.”

“These kinds of foreigners are everywhere around the Patong area. They even threaten to call the police on us (Thais) despite their wrongdoings.”

“Rich in Thailand, but just working-class in their own country.”

“Thai officials deserve the insult because they indeed focus only on money, just as those foreigners claim.”

“The fine is even cheaper than his petrol bills.”

In a related story from 2022, a Thai egg vendor sought justice after a foreigner allegedly crashed his Lamborghini into her pickup while she was delivering eggs to customers, but he reportedly refused to take responsibility.

The vendor claimed that the foreign man denied driving the vehicle, shifted the blame onto a Thai national, and told her to chase compensation through his insurance company herself. The outcome of the case was not made public, and it remains unclear whether the vendor ever received justice.
