Land abuse report to be filed on Friday
BANGKOK, The Nation: A full report on the results of the investigation into abuses of SorPorKor 4-01 land usage papers will be handed on Friday to the Land Department in Bangkok, and then to the Crime Suppression Police (CSP). Announcing this today, Pol Lt Gen Chidchai Wannasathit, Chairman of the SorPorKor Investigation Committee, said that abuses that will be covered by the report will include illegal upgrades of SorPorKor, counterfeit Chanote titles and those obtained through illegal means, and encroachment onto national park and state land. Gen Chidchai said that CSP would bring charges against offenders. He added that his committee would help to find and supply any additional evidence the CSP required. He said that no names of offenders would be released at this time. He also declined to say how many rai of land are implicated in the report. Meanwhile, Adisak Srisappakij, Permanent Secretary of the Agriculture Land Reform Department, said that officers checking the qualifications of holders of SorPorKor land papers and surveying the condition of SorPorKor plots would complete their investigations in early July.
