“Burmese Cemetery’ claims another victim

PHUKET CITY: Another murder victim was found floating in the murky waters of Rassada Port yesterday morning.
Staff of the Por Pichai raft called police after finding the body floating in the sea close to the raft.
Pol Lt Col Tiwakorn Kongpeth, of Phuket City Police Station, said the man – believed to be Burmese and between 20 and 25 years old – had a three-inch head wound, thought to be the likely cause of death.
When he was found, the man was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, and a black jacket, which was tied around his arms.
Residents told police they had seen the man at a karaoke bar two nights earlier, and that, around midnight, they had seen someone dressed in similar clothing being chased by four or five other fishermen. They had not seen him since then.
Police said the victim appeared to have been dead for about two days when found. They were unable to establish his identity.
The body was taken to Wachira Phuket Hospital.
