Jealous Thai man smashes ex-wife’s car, writes vulgarities on it
A Thai man in Pattaya apologised to his ex-wife after smashing her car and writing vulgar words on the vehicle yesterday, February 4.
The 24 year old Thai woman, Thananya Khunwiset, filed a complaint against her ex-husband, 26 year old Thanadon, for causing damage to her car, a dark blue Honda Brio with the registration plate ขน 1747 Chon Buri. Thananya said Thanadon also called her to admit to his actions and mock her.
According to pictures of the car shared by ThaiRath, the windscreen was shattered with a large rock, which was still left inside the vehicle. The window on the left side had a large hole, while the car’s bonnet and left side were scratched with vulgar words, including “f*ck” and “hell.”
Thananya revealed that Thanadon informed her about the damage via a phone call, prompting her to order him to surrender himself to the police. Thanadon refused and mocked her.
“Hello! Have you ever seen any criminals turn themselves in? No.”
Officers from Mueang Pattaya Police Station then summoned Thanadon for questioning and accompanied him to meet Thananya to agree on compensation.
Upon meeting his ex-wife, Thanadon apologised and promised to compensate her for the damage before rushing to hug their eight year old son.
Thanadon told ThaiRath that he and Thananya had been together for over nine years and shared one son. He admitted that he still loved Thananya and committed the crime out of jealousy and anger.
He insisted that he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time.
Thananya revealed that she forgave her ex-husband and would visit the police station to withdraw the legal proceedings.
A similar conflict was reported in the Isaan province of Udon Thani in November last year when a transwoman forgave her boyfriend, who bit her cheek, causing it to bleed.
The man apologised to his transgender girlfriend by bowing at her feet and paying his respects, which moved her to forgive him.
