Thai woman allegedly electrocuted at Samut Prakan Police Station
Victim found holding plugged in mobile phone during incident

A Thai woman is now in stable condition after she was allegedly electrocuted at Phra Samut Chedi Police Station in Samut Prakan province near Bangkok.
Two Thai men visited the police station yesterday, May 14, to file a complaint after being chased and attacked by a group of unidentified men. The gang attempted to shoot and stab them on a road near Soi Suksawat 39. One of them was shot in the right leg, and another sustained minor injuries from the knife attack.
While the two were giving details of the incident to police, the girlfriend of Patiphat, one of the victims, suddenly collapsed and began to convulse.
In video footage shared by Channel 8, the woman is seen lying face down on the floor, her body shaking uncontrollably. Patiphat rushed to assist her, but a police officer advised him not to touch her, suspecting she may have suffered an electric shock.
The woman was holding her mobile phone, which was connected to a charger at the time. Police unplugged the charger before administering first aid to the woman. Fortunately, her condition was not severe, although she sustained a small burn on her hand, reportedly caused by the shock.

Phra Samut Chedi Police Station has yet to confirm whether the incident was caused by electrocution or a pre-existing medical condition. However, netizens believed it was due to an electric shock and were calling on officials to investigate the matter to ensure the safety of visitors to the police station.

Regarding the initial incident involving Patiphat and his friend, police suspect that the attackers were local teenagers targeting people they did not recognise.
Patiphat’s friend, who was shot in the right leg, insisted that they did not know the assailants and had never had any conflict with them previously.

This incident follows two other recent electrocution cases in Thailand. Last week, a woman in Surat Thani province was fatally electrocuted while walking along a flooded road and passing a streetlight.
In another tragic event earlier today, May 15, a van driver in Phuket died after crashing into a power pole in Soi Thep Anusorn, Wichit sub-district. The collision triggered a transformer explosion, resulting in a fatal electric shock.
