Motorcycle accident: Collision with food delivery truck in central Thailand causes fatality
A tragic motorcycle accident occurred today when a rider crashed into a food delivery truck, leading to the death of an unidentified male.
The incident happened at 2.30am on the Bang Khaen-Nong Suea Road, near the TU Dome Plaza, in Khlong Luang district, Pathum Thani. The deceased had no identification documents on him, but two tablets of methamphetamine were found in his possession.
At the scene of the motorcycle accident, authorities found the lifeless body of the man lying by the roadside. A mobile phone and two meth tablets in a clear plastic bag were the only items found on him. Nearby, an Isuzu truck with the license plate 2ฒถ8346 Bangkok, used for food delivery, was found severely damaged. The driver, 45 year old Surat (surname withheld), was waiting for the police at a distance of 20 metres from the truck.
Also found at the scene was a totalled Honda motorcycle with the license plate 6ขท6596 Bangkok. Parts of the motorcycle were scattered all over the road. Surat gave his account to the police, stating that he was returning from the Tai market with items for sale.
He was driving normally when he spotted the motorcycle coming towards him in the wrong lane at high speed. He tried to slow down and park, but the motorcycle hit his truck violently. Surat could not avoid the collision due to the high-speed traffic following him from behind, reported KhaoSod.
Following the accident, the police took Surat in for further questioning at the Khlong Luang police station.
