Bangkok police arrest man with 10,000 meth pills and ammunition
Police in Sai Mai district, Bangkok, arrested a young man for dealing methamphetamine (meth), seizing a significant quantity of drugs and ammunition. The suspect confessed to distributing drugs for over eight years, starting at the age of 17.
Police Major General Attapol Anusit, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2, along with Deputy Commander Sakdit Sitthisawat and other senior officers, successfully apprehended 25 year old Kittiphat near Phemsin Bridge on Klong Song Road yesterday, September 10, at 11am.
The arrest followed a patrol by Sai Mai police officers at 10.30pm on Monday, during which they noticed a suspicious vehicle exhibiting erratic driving behaviour. The suspect’s car was intermittently speeding and stopping, prompting the officers to follow and eventually signal the vehicle to stop for a search.
Upon inspection, officers discovered 10,000 meth pills wrapped in wax paper with a 999-star symbol hidden under the car seat. Additionally, they found 16 9mm bullets in the centre console box.
Kittiphat admitted that the drugs belonged to him, purchased from a dealer in Lam Narai, Lopburi province last Saturday, September 7. He had already sold four packages, each containing 10,000 pills, to customers in Bangkok, earning a profit of 250,000 baht per transaction. He disclosed that he had been involved in drug distribution for eight years, starting when he was 17 years old.
Police conducted a drug test on Kittiphat at Nopparat Rajathanee Hospital, which confirmed the presence of drugs in his urine. Consequently, he was charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute, drug use, driving under the influence of drugs, using fake licence plates, and possession of ammunition. Kittiphat, along with the confiscated items, was handed over to the investigators at Sai Mai Police Station for further legal proceedings.
Further investigation revealed that Kittiphat had a criminal record. In 2016, he was arrested for drug possession with intent to sell in Ban Mo district and again in 2018 in Nong Bua Khok district, reported KhaoSod.
