2 Cambodian men assaulted by Thai influencers in shopping mall

Two Cambodian men filed a complaint against two Thai social media influencers for physically assaulting them at a shopping mall in Samut Prakan province near Bangkok for a false allegation of being involved with a notorious Cambodian gang known as BK.
The Cambodian nationals reported the incident at Sam Rong Nuea Police Station on Tuesday, May 13. The assault reportedly took place on the fifth floor of a shopping mall in the Sam Rong area on Sunday, May 11, at around 4pm.
One of the victims, Chon Choy, told police he was gathering with two friends and his younger brother at a beverage shop when a group of four to five men approached them.
The group first targeted his younger brother, grabbing him by the collar, slapping him twice in the face, and forcing him onto a table. They then turned their attention to Chon and punched him in the face three to four times.
The assailants allegedly asked whether the victims were members of the BK group. Despite their immediate denial, the attack continued.

Chon claimed that the gang dragged him and his brother out of the CCTV camera’s field of view and asked if they intended to report the assault to the police.
The victims responded that they absolutely would, as they had done nothing to deserve such treatment. The attackers reportedly said nothing further and left the scene, leaving the victims confused and distressed.
The Cambodian men insisted they had no previous conflicts with anyone, including the alleged gang members.

The victims were able to identify two of the attackers as social media influencers known as Tae Archeewa and Kung Sor Por.
Tae yesterday, May 14, gave his version of events in an interview with Amarin TV. He admitted to attacking the two Cambodian men, claiming they behaved rudely towards Thai visitors at the mall.

According to Tae, he received a phone call from a female friend who alleged that a group of Cambodian men mocked her.
Tae said he rushed to the mall with friends and, upon finding the two Cambodian nationals, assaulted them. He admitted that he acted selfishly and sided with his fellow Thais.

Tae stated that he would comply with the police when summoned for questioning. He also expressed a desire to pursue legal action against foreign nationals, particularly migrant workers, whom he accused of illegally operating food stalls at the mall.
