Yet another incident of an enraged man allegedly killing his partner has emerged in Thailand, this time in the Sri Racha district of Chon Buri. Police yesterday found a woman, 40 year old Wanrat Ruabrat, lying dead on the floor of her kitchen with brutal head injuries. They also found a bloodied axe at the scene of the crime.

Wanrat’s sister claims that Wanrat’s husband murdered her because she refused to reconcile with him after a conflict. She said this enraged her husband, and he murdered Wanrat with the axe. Sri Racha Police chief Sakchai Suwannukul said Wanrat’s husband drove off on his motorbike, but he vowed to arrest him soon.

The news comes only days after another man shot and critically wounded his girlfriend and is on the run in South Thailand. The 20 year old man shot both his girlfriend and her friend as they were leaving the restrooms of a PTT petrol station. Police found that the couple had frequently fought, and about a week earlier it had seemed likely that they would break up.

Incidents of jealous and angry men attacking their partners regularly hit the headlines in Thailand. Last month, a jealous husband who reportedly followed his wife everywhere she went, killed her by slitting her throat. In June, a police lieutenant driven by a jealous rage murdered his wife and teenage daughter before committing suicide.
