Contaminated petrol leads to car breakdown in Wuxi
A car owner recently experienced significant frustration after refuelling contaminated petrol at a small station in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China. After driving only 500 metres, the car broke down completely, leading to a contentious dispute with the petrol station, which refused to accept responsibility.
On July 28, an individual, referred to as Li (a pseudonym), visited a small petrol station in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China, and refuelled with 200 yuan (approximately 980 baht) of 95-octane petrol. However, shortly after driving only 500 metres, the car began making strange noises before abruptly shutting down and refusing to restart.
With no other options, Li called for roadside assistance to have the vehicle towed to a repair station. After multiple inspections by the technical team, it was confirmed that the primary cause of the car’s malfunction was low-quality fuel. Specifically, it was discovered that the petrol was contaminated with water.
This revelation left Li extremely frustrated. Returning to confront the petrol station staff, Li was met with outright denial of any responsibility. The staff even challenged Li to provide video evidence of the refuelling, making it exceedingly difficult to prove the fault of the petrol station without specific evidence. Ultimately, Li had to accept the frustrating lesson learned from this unfortunate incident.
“Without clear evidence, proving the fault of the petrol station becomes a near-impossible task.”
In light of this event, it is advisable to avoid refuelling at petrol stations that do not guarantee the quality of their fuel to prevent similar situations.
In related news, a delivery rider faced a long wait for petrol and decided to take a creative approach to continue his work. The rider, who had been waiting for fuel for his motorcycle, opted to ride a horse he borrowed temporarily to deliver food instead. This unexpected and resourceful solution managed to draw considerable attention and curiosity among onlookers.
The horse was borrowed from a friend who lives nearby, as the rider explained, highlighting an unusual yet effective solution to a common problem.
