Amidst an aura of anticipation and elegance, the red carpet was unfurled to welcome esteemed guests and cinephiles alike to the grand opening of the Moviemov Italian Film Fest on February 27, 2024. The spotlight illuminated the much-anticipated screening of the critically acclaimed film “C’è Ancora Domani” (There’s Still Tomorrow), a poignant portrayal of female empowerment, that commenced at 7.40 PM. As attendees took their seats, the stage was set for an enchanting evening of cinematic excellence. Adding a personal touch to the experience, a special program beckoned guests to engage directly with the talented actors behind the captivating films showcased this year, promising unique insights and unforgettable encounters.

Inaugurated by the Italian Embassy in Thailand and the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce (TICC), the Moviemov Italian Film Fest at House Samyan in Bangkok marks its XIII edition. With the support of the General Direction of Cinema and Ministry of Culture, and in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Bangkok, this event, conceived by Goffredo Bettini and organized by Associazione Culturale Playtown Roma, promised to captivate audiences from February 27 to March 1, 2024.

This year, the festival pays homage to the Turkish-Italian film director Ferzan Ozpetek with the screening of the restored copy of “The Turkish Bath – Hamam” and two of his most iconic films, “The Ignorant Fairies,” and “Loose Cannons.” The opening film, “C’è Ancora Domani,” a blockbuster comedy by Paola Cortellesi, sets the stage for a cinematic journey filled with laughter and introspection. Accompanied by esteemed guests such as Vinicio Marchioni and actress Milena Mancini, the festival promises an immersive experience into the world of Italian cinema.
