Collaboration key element for Phuket’s Design and Decoration Exhibition

PHUKET: AAA Exhibition & Training Co Ltd, in collaboration with the Phuket Chamber of Commerce and Thailand Variety Construction Magazine, are ready to stage the inaugural Phuket Design and Decoration Exhibition.

The event will take place in the Grand Ballroom on the 2nd floor of the Royal Phuket City Hotel (click here for map), from May 30 to June 2, between the hours of 10am to 8:30pm on all days.

With the aim of improving and promoting trade in the Andaman seaboard region, which covers Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga, Ranong and Trang, the exhibition will feature approximately 100 exhibitors offering a wide range of products, including the latest and greatest of in-trend furniture, interior design and decorations – for houses, hotels, condominiums and resorts.

Visitors can expect to find lanterns, lamps, outdoor and pool furniture as well as all types of items for the spa, garden, bedroom, living room and kitchen. Furthermore, there will be wood carving products, brass, silverware, lacquer ware, ceramic, pottery, and special handicraft products from the North of Thailand on offer.

Apart from this, there will be indoor and outdoor sound systems ideal for meeting rooms, as well as electricity management systems.

Commenting about the event, Ms Neunghathai Duatree, managing manager of AAA Exhibition & Training Co Ltd, said: “We expect customers to not only come from Phuket, but from Khao Lak, Krabi, Trang, Surat Thani, Samui Island, Pa Ngan Island, Phi Phi Island and Lanta Island as well.”

“They will include property owners, designers, property consultant companies, industrial enterprises, architects, souvenir buyers who want new products, companies’ purchasing departments and local people who are just curious,” she added.

Due to the fact that Phuket is a world-class tourism city which has a very strong economic base, there are always opportunities for business people to come and start their businesses all the time, she said.

Even though the island has at times faced environmental disasters or economic hardships, it always has been quick to jump back on its feet, and the tourism industry continues to grow strong, she stressed.

“Therefore, it’s crucial for companies to keep on improving its products. In fact, the number of products are increasing every year,” Ms Nuengthai concluded.

Special activities in the exhibition will include a discussion about anticipated trends, designs and decorations for 2014-2015, to be given by a designated expert, as well as other special seminars and exhibitions targeting companies interested in interior design products and outdoor decorations.

Exhibitors will include traders from the Phuket Association for the Promotion of the Small and Medium Entrepreneurs or ATSME, and will include a special showcase of Thai Andaman businesswoman dress. Moreover, there will be products exhibitions from students and freelance designers.
