Vietnamese mother expertly bathes newborn with her feet: Inspiring millions
A video of Phan Tường Vy, a young mother from Dalat, Vietnam, bathing her one month old baby with her feet has gone viral, amassing hundreds of thousands of views. Born in 1995, she shared the video on YouTube, where it initially received nearly 250,000 views and has since climbed to over 750,000 views.
In the video, Vy revealed that she had no other option but to bathe her newborn daughter with her feet as her mother was not around. Despite her husband being at home, she did not feel comfortable letting him bathe their child as she had previously bathed their son multiple times.
Confidence stemmed from her past experiences. She then proceeded to undress the baby with her feet, take her into the bathroom and expertly wash her. Vy was able to move the baby from a small basin to a larger one with ease. After the bath, she was able to dry the infant, dress her in new clothes, and clean the baby’s nose with a cotton swab, all with her feet.
Initially, some viewers were concerned about her foot movements. However, throughout the video, Vy demonstrated her ability to care for her child exceptionally well, transforming viewers’ apprehension into admiration. For many, even bathing a newborn with their hands can be intimidating, yet Vy handled everything smoothly with her feet.
Reportedly, Vy was born in 1995 with a normal body. However, at the age of six, she became severely affected by swine flu, resulting in her hands becoming clenched and losing sensation. She then had to learn to do everything with her feet to avoid relying on others. From eating, dressing, cooking, even putting on makeup, hairstyling, filming and editing videos, she was able to do everything independently. When she had children, she became a great mother.
Vy had a difficult teenage love experience. She found out she was pregnant after breaking up with her boyfriend, and decided to be a single mother as her ex-boyfriend refused to accept the child. After six years of raising her child alone, in March 2023, she got engaged to her current husband, who is of the same age and comes from the same hometown. They later married.
