A 35 year old wealthy woman from Shanghai found herself a victim of a series of thefts taking place in her home. Despite her losses, which exceeded 1 million yuan (over 5 million baht), she attempted to catch the home thief herself rather than report the theft to the police. Her plan, however, took an unexpected turn.

The victim, Jinti, first noticed that her cash was gradually decreasing from her savings. Instead of reporting this to the police, she decided to purchase another safe and place all her cash in it to test the thief. But to her shock, a week later, she found that almost 10,000 yuan of the 40,000 yuan she had placed in the safe was missing. This confirmed her suspicion of a thief in her home.

The question remained, who was this thief? And how could they open her safe and lift the money without leaving any trace?

Jinti believed she was being deliberately provoked by the home thief and that she could catch the criminal herself, thus choosing not to report the theft to the police. When significant amounts of money began disappearing from her safe without any signs of damage, she began suspecting her housemaid, 30 year old Xiaoli, from Guizhou.

To confirm her suspicions, Jinti purposely placed gold worth over 700,000 yuan (about 3.4 million baht) in the safe. She also secretly installed a CCTV camera at her room door. Three days later, she discovered that the money in the safe was missing and this time the home thief had left the safe door open. Although she had a CCTV camera, she feared that if the thief was not her maid, she would lose more than 1 million yuan (over 5 million baht) instantly.

When she checked the CCTV footage, she was shocked to find that the camera had been disconnected unknowingly. Unable to identify who had entered her house or who had taken her money and gold worth more than 1 million yuan (more than 5 million baht), she was left with no choice but to report the matter to the police immediately, reported Sanook.

There has been no conclusion to the mystery as yet.
