A 22 year old mother in Scotland had a chilling encounter when she spotted an intruder crawling out from under her bed via her Baby Monitor app on her mobile phone while she and her one year old son were away visiting a friend. Swiftly, she contacted the police.

The monitoring system, installed to keep an eye on her toddler, had alerted her of movement in the house. Upon checking the live feed on the baby monitor, she was horrified to see a man emerging from under her bed and climbing onto it, triggering the motion sensor. She immediately reported the incident to the police, consumed by fear and shock.

“The camera is connected to my phone to alert me of any movements. So when the alarm went off, I looked at the live feed and saw this man’s feet sticking out from the foot of my bed. My heart nearly stopped.”

After alerting the authorities, she returned home to inspect the situation. She found a screwdriver in her living room, presumably used by the intruder to pry open a window. The intruder, she discovered, had left a trail of blood from his head, staining carpets, a kettle, and stair rails in her home.

“It was like a crime scene.”

The mother later expressed disappointment with the police’s response. She felt they had done little after escorting the intruder out, offering no advice or explanation regarding the criminal act. She believed the police had acted too hastily, leaving her feeling insecure and scared to return home. In the meantime, she has sought temporary refuge at a friend’s house, reported Sanook.
