A renowned Japanese ramen shop known for its rich chicken broth and soy sauce made an unprecedented offer: lifetime ramen for a one-time payment of 300,000 yen, or approximately 73,000 baht (US$2,042). Uramusashiya, the shop in question, announced through its official Twitter account that this offer, previously available to students for 100,000 yen (US$2,797), is now open to the general public.

The ramen shop, Uramusashiya, situated in Chiba Prefecture near Nishi-Chiba and Soga stations, garnered a loyal following thanks to its delectable offerings. In a move that has food enthusiasts buzzing, the establishment recently took to its Twitter account to unveil a lifetime subscription to their beloved dishes for a lump sum of 300,000 yen.

Initially, Uramusashiya catered to students with a lifetime free-eating promotion priced at 100,000 yen, which attracted around ten sign-ups. Now, for the first time, the offer has been extended to the wider public at the increased fee, covering not only ramen but also rice, and even allowing patrons to skip the queue.

The promotion applies across both Uramusashiya branches and entitles customers to one free bowl of ramen per visit, with the option to upgrade to the pricier Chashu ramen. Their menu lists three Chashu ramen dishes: two at 1,150 yen (US$7.79) each and a premium version at 1,350 yen (US$9.14). Opting for the premium choice means that after 223 bowls, the initial outlay would be recouped, reported Sanook.

Furthermore, subscribers can also avail themselves of free rice, usually priced at 100 yen (US$0.68), making the deal even more attractive. Combining the premium Chashu ramen with rice brings the break-even point down to just 207 servings.

The practicality of this unique offer is enhanced by Uramusashiya’s operating hours, which run from 11am until midnight. Customers have the opportunity to dine multiple times in a single day, excluding Tuesdays when the shop is closed. Consequently, dedicated patrons could make back their investment in less than a year, ensuring all subsequent meals are pure profit.

This innovative approach to customer loyalty and dining presents a tantalising prospect: the chance to enjoy free ramen for life, a true testament to the enduring appeal of Uramusashiya’s culinary delights.
