Phuket tightens restrictions: No parties, no visits from friends

No, your friends can’t come over. No parties. No drinking with friends. No large gatherings. As part of Phuket’s efforts to stop the spread of Covid-19, local authorities have tightened restrictions and say friends are not allowed to gather at private homes.

“No parties of any kind allowed… No house party, no friends gathering in the residence.”

Along with temporary closures of some businesses and venues, the order says, parties involving alcohol are banned and gatherings of more than 30 people are banned. The only gatherings allowed are religious ceremonies like weddings and funerals.

Foreigners who violate any of Phuket’s disease control measures could be deported and lose their permission to stay in Thailand. On Sunday, 2 British men in Phuket were each fined 6,000 baht for having a “party.” Only 6 people were gathered at the home. Police from the Cherng Talay station came by the home after a call from a neighbour.

  1. As said in another post. LOScam is full of xenophobe paranoid idiots. I am very happy to leave on 6th June for good and will surely invite some friends to my home before I go.

Let the coppers come over, they can revoke my Visa on the spot and blacklist me for lifetime if they like. There is no reason to come back to LOScam anyway, especially not under such circumstances.

  2. But we can meet up and eat together at a restaurant… what the what?!?!
The logic boggles the mind here… what is the real science behind any of these ideas? Why not just close everything and be done with it. Why not just put a complete ban on all alcohol sales? Then Covid risk and infections will fall quickly and it will all be ok and back to normal. Not! Covid is around forever… it’s here to stay. So says the WHO. So, best start finding ways to live with it.
Then people can earn money so they can eat. The pain inflicted by these pop up ideas is unimaginable.

  3. Is there anyway to get up-to-date English-language information on domestic travel requirements between provinces? I’m trying to find out about RT-PCR test requirements on to fly domestic on the Phuket-Bangkok route, tried both airports, covid info page, not getting an answer…

Is it 72 hours before the flight, like on international flights?

  4. It sounds like the foreigners are being singled out in this case and will be treated harshly regardless who they are. Last year there was a comment made; The dirty foreigners who brought covid in our country should have been a sign of your worth there! The video of the raid recorded by Thai’s, shared on social media by Thai’s, then shared by Thai’s to their foreign friends has now gone viral worldwide. Rules are rules and should be followed but, make it clear before sending out a shame video and not 4 days later!

  5. i’m in quarantine in bangkok for 1 week i arrive from italy, i’m really fed up i really hope that when i finish the quarantine i can go anywhere in thailand. it’s a world of crazy people

  6. “If they are not THE FAMILY MEMBER who already live together in the same house – NOT allowed”

Here is your chance to turn in couples you KNOW are living in sin & have the government correct their ways. Sincerely, it’s a chance to make things right from a place of love & concern, because you know it’s better that someone punish them here & now on earth before the end times when they’ll face the ultimate punishment for their choice to rebel against the creator.
