Phuket Police post YouTube video of gold shop suspect, unmasked
PHUKET: Police have posted a YouTube video showing the man they believe committed the gold shop murder-burglary in Phuket on April 8 in the hope that members of the public can identify him.
The CCTV footage shows a man with a slight limp smoking as he walks back and forth in front of the C.P. Gold Master & Jewelry store on the bypass road the night before the lethal robbery.
The man who robbed the store was reported to have a limp (story here).
“We checked the CCTV footage of the gold shop to find the suspect. We found him on the April 7 tape at 7:49pm walking in front of the shop as if to inspect it,” said Col Arun Kleawwatee, Deputy Commander of the Phuket Provincial Police.
“We are passing the CCTV clip to the media and posting it online, hoping that someone recognizes the man,” Col Arun said.
There is a 400,000-baht reward for information leading to the arrest of the killer, he added.
“Anyone with information, please call us either at the private numbers of Col Sermpan Sirikong 081-6911263 or Lt Col Prawit Engchuan 081-4158668 or the Phuket Provincial Police at 076-212046,” Col Arun urged.
“Or go to the nearest police station to file a report,” he said.
