Floods paralyse Phuket roads, flights delayed and diverted

Many parts of Phuket were underwater last night (June 26) after a two-hour spurt of heavy rain early in the evening. A number of roads in Phuket Town, around Samkong, as well as on Thepkrasattri Road in front of the main SuperCheap, and in Thalang, were also flooded by the short but heavy deluge.

Many flights were unable to land safely at Phuket International Airport and had to be diverted to Krabi, Hat Yai and Surat Thani.

The Air Asia Airways flight FD3021 and flight FD3025 from Don Mueang International Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 5:55 pm and 6.05pm.

Thai Airways flight TG217 from Suvarnabhumi Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 6.50 pm.

Bangkok Airways flight PG277 from Suvarnabhumi Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 6.50pm

And Etihad Airways flight EY430 from Abu Dhabi International Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 6.33pm.

The flights had to be diverted to Krabi, Hat Yai and Surat Thani. Other flights affected below…

Nok Air Airlines flight DD7520 from Don Mueang International Airport had scheduled to arrive 6.55pm had to be diverted to Surat Thani International Airport.

Xiamen Airlines flight MF8679 from Fuzhou Changle International Airport had scheduled to arrive 7.02pm had to be diverted to Surat Thani International Airport.

Thai Vietjet Air flight VZ310 from Suvarnabhumi Airport had scheduled to arrive at 7.10 pm had to be diverted to Krabi International Airport.
