Woman finds snake in her paste tin
PHUKET: A Phuketian Facebook user took to social media after finding a disfigured snake in her anchovy paste.
Facebook user Wanida Pagamat yesterday posted an image of Thai anchovy paste (Pla-ra) with a black snake-like slough in it. She claimed to have bought the paste in a local Phuket store.
“How do you sell this to someone? It looks like a snake. Please check your food before sending it to the store,” the post read.
Ms Wanida has reportedly filed a complaint with the police.
The owner of the undisclosed shop where Ms Wanida purchased the paste has reportedly sent a representative to visit the upset customer.
Ms Wanida says she reported the product’s contents to the Consumer Protection Board today, “to encourage that better product examination measures be taken.”
