Singapore Sars alert ends

PHUKET: Tourists from Singapore are now able to enter Phuket and Thailand generally without a Sars health check. The World Health Organization has removed the island nation from its list of Sars-alert countries. Weerasit Raden, Chief of Port Health, Phuket International Airport, told the Gazette that travelers arriving from Hong Kong, Taiwan and China still require a medical check at the airport, where they will each receive a health passport requiring them to visit local hospitals or clinics for regular checks, or alternatively to wear a surgical mask during their stay.
