Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Cup Tour of Thailand
PHUKET: The women’s section of the “Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Cup Tour of Thailand” started today on Phuket. The event features 15 international teams (including T-Thailand and T-All Star from Thailand).
The first stage of the women’s race was completed earlier today on Phuket and the race schedule for tomorrow’s Phang Nga leg is as follows:
9am: The race starts from provincial hall in Phuket Town.
9:07am: The race moves through KuKu.
9:20am: Cyclists go past Ratsada Municipality Office.
9:41am: The race goes onto Thepkrasattri Rd at the T-junction close to Rajabhat University.
10:08am: The race goes past Heroines monument.
10:11am: Cyclists pass the exit that leads to the airport.
10:22am: Crosses Sarasin bridge.
11:11am: The race finishes in Phang Nga Town.
The men’s race finished in Phuket on April 6 after covering approximately 999 kilometers through Suphanburi, Hua-Hin (Prachuap Khiri Khan), Chumphon, Ranong, Phang-Nga and Phuket.
Below is amateur footage of male racers taken this weekend outside Tiny Coffee on Thepkasattri Road, Phuket Town.
The road was cleared by police and other city officials who kept bystanders off the track as racers whizzed through downtown at high speeds towards Saphan Hin, where they finished.
In front of the pack were emergency vehicles with sirens blaring and behind trailed a long caravan of support vehicles carrying racer’s equipment.
