Phuket Governor offers safe Songkran blessings

PHUKET: Governor Maitri Inthusut hosted more than 300 people, including the island’s three vice governors, at his official residence in Phuket Town this morning for a traditional Songkran water blessing to start off the Thai New Year holiday.

Vice Governor Sommai Prijasilpa led the first blessing of Governor Maitri.

“Thank you for your support and for helping us develop our island. We will always support you as the father of Phuket,” Vice Governor Sommai said.

“I hope you live a long life and continue to do good things for Phuket people.”

Gov Maitri thanked everyone for attending this morning and had his own blessings to express.

“I wish everyone success in your life and your job. Every blessing you wish upon me, I also wish for you,” he said.

“This Songkran Festival and Thai New Year I wish all people good luck, happiness, success and a healthy mind and body for the year. Enjoy your holidays both in Phuket and in other provinces, and be safe.”
